A native North Carolinian, award-winning author Mary Flinn long ago fell in love with her state’s mountains and its coast, creating the backdrops for all of her novels, both contemporary and historical. Flinn spent 32 years in her first career as a speech pathologist in the N.C. public schools. After a book had tumbled around in her head for 30 of those years, Flinn began crafting the pages of The One when her younger daughter left for college at Appalachian State University in 2009. The characters in this book have continued to call to her, wanting more of their stories told, which bred four more books in the series, as well as several other prize-winning standalones.

Mary Flinn lives in Wilmington, North Carolina with her husband, where she is at work on her next book.
